Agenda + DRAMA. Apocalypticdancefloor

Studenten van de Zwitserse podiumkunstenschool La Manufacture komen naar Brussel om hun eindejaarsprojecten te tonen. Er staan twee stukken op het programma, onder het waakzame oog van de choreografen Simone Aughterlony en Marcelo Evelin. Simone Aughterlony benadert de politiek geladen notie van de "vreemdeling" als een collage. Marcelo Evelin toont dan weer een apocalyptische dansvloer waarop een brutale stroom van lichamen tegen elkaar botsen, op de energetische muziek van het Braziliaanse trio Tantão e Os Fita.

La Manufacture - Haute école des arts de la scène, is een universiteit voor podiumkunsten in Zwitserland, die theater- en dansopleidingen aanbiedt met een focus op onderzoek en creativiteit. Studenten, kunstenaars, onderzoekers en docenten werken op één site, waar ideeën en praktijk samenkomen en waar de podiumkunsten vanuit een hedendaags en multidisciplinair standpunt worden bekeken.

Simone Aughterlony | Agenda As a collection of pieces of other things, this collage treats space as a canvas where found sources and references accumulate and maintain an impossible proximity. Like our world, it sustains an enduring dialogue of contradictions and meanings. The thirteen dancers question the nuances of coexistence versus conflict and the way affect shapes the spaces we inhabit.

Marcelo Evelin | DRAMA. ApocalypticDanceFloor The word DRAMA means ‘action’ or ‘to take action’ in Greek, while in today's life it can mean an overreaction or blowing things out of control. DRAMA takes the body in its excitement, brutality, rage, joy and fragility. It leaves room for dissent – in opposition to harmony – to allow the embodying of the dancers' desires, conflicts, and paradoxes.
