O Samba do Crioulo Doido

Luiz de Abreu gebruikt dans als middel om raciale identiteiten de deconstrueren. Door te spelen met de stereotypes van de voorstelling van het zwarte lichaam, in het bijzonder binnen de context van het carnaval, drijft het werk de spot met de racistische clichés en biedt het een kritische kijk op machtsverhoudingen, doorspekt met humor. Vandaag opnieuw gebracht door Calixto Neto, bevrijdt en emancipeert deze “zotte samba” het lichaam, en de mens.
